New Here

You Are Welcome

We’d love to have you visit our church, but we know visiting a new church can be an uncomfortable experience. We want to help you prepare by letting you know what to expect when you come.

Dress
We invite you to come as you are, wearing whatever you think is appropriate for worship. You’ll see business casual, jeans, t-shirts, and everything in between.

Music Style
We believe every voice is a God-given gift to worship Him. Our services are a mixture of some classic hymns and contemporary worship songs that invite everyone to participate. The true worship leaders are the congregation, not the people in front.

That’s a church?
We’re in a beautiful location near the Mississippi River with a forest or stream on three sides. Our building doesn’t look like a typical church – either inside or out. But we work to make church about the people and the experience, not the location.

Prayer
The New Testament records that when the early church met, they prayed. When you attend, you’ll have an opportunity for silent prayer, and a pastor will pray for all who are gathered.

The Message
We believe the Bible is God’s message to us, and so at every service you’ll hear a pastor teach directly from it. Our goal is to help you understand what the Bible says, and how to apply it to your situation.

The Gospel
The gospel (good news about Jesus) is the core of who we are. Our church communicates the need for faith in Jesus Christ as the only way to experience God’s salvation.

Relationships
It’s hard to connect at a church where you don’t know anyone. We’ll greet you warmly and make you feel at home. At the same time, we’ll respect your space and interact with you in whatever way you feel comfortable.

Family
Our church believes in the importance of integrating Bible principles into your family – we call it taking it home. Whether you’re a family of many or of one, we’ll help you find a place in our fellowship.

Oakwood Church is located in the southeast corner of St Paul,
